Chike combines with Oxlade for an enchanting remix of “Spell”

Chike, who is not one to squander time, has been active this year. In order to translate the expansive scope of his R&B-inspired records into performative mode, the dulcet-toned vocalist has already staged a number of performances. In terms of music, Chike uses the timeless allure of his second album, “The Brother’s Keeper”, reinterpreting its songs through immersive forays into more varied media.

Chike released evocative visuals for “On the Moon” in January. The showcase of aspirational glitz in the TBK opener was an excellent continuation of Chike’s character development. Particularly in the context of the album, where personal ambition frequently collided with the changing natures of love. “Spell,” produced by DeeYasso, describes the conflicting emotions of wanting to move forward in love even though the union works against one’s own development—over glossy piano notes, Chike sang in a vulnerable style.

Chike debuted evocative visuals for “On the Moon” in January. The showcase of aspirational glitz, an ecclesiastical the opener to TBK, was an excellent continuation of Chike’s character development. Particularly in the context of the album, where personal ambition frequently collided with the shifting natures of love. Chike sang in a vulnerable style reminiscent of soul classics over glossy piano notes, polishing homeward influences with his grasp on Nigerian lingo and its implications.

He now collaborates with Oxlade on the remix. The “KU LO SA” vocalist, who is known for stories that bridge romantic desire and personal conviction, complements Chike’s emotional dosage on wax. Director Pink of Pinkline Films creates appropriate visuals for their collaboration, showcasing the musicians in warm colors. It’s a simple, sensual video that highlights the intimate vision of the record, with scenes replete with beautiful models and a sky-toned staircase that makes for a stirring background.

Chike has always been big on visuals, and “Spell (Remix)” is no exception. He propels the narrative to exuberant highs by combining this set of distinct images with its heartwarming message. Love, he seems to say, can never be without a good burst of emotions to feed its fountain.
